Everything We Know About Dogs Began With One Little Teacher
Some dogs walk into your life, and then some dogs quietly change it forever.
For us, that dog was Swayze.
She wasn't just our companion. She became our greatest teacher.
When Swayze was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease, life slowed down in ways we never expected. Our days became filled with veterinary appointments, homemade meals, medications, research papers, specialists, and countless conversations about what it truly means to care for another living being.
We learned that caring for a dog isn't simply about feeding them or taking them for walks. It's about noticing the subtle changes in their eyes. Understanding what they're trying to tell you without words. Creating environments where they feel safe. Learning patience. Finding joy in slower days and appreciating that every moment together is a gift.
Some of the most valuable lessons we learned didn't come from books or veterinarians. They came from simply paying attention. Because of Swayze, we began asking better questions.
